SADC REGIONAL PEACEKEEPING TRAINING ON INTERGRATED SENIOR MISSION LEADERSHIP

CLOSING CEREMONY FOR INTERGRATED SENIOR MISSION LEADERSHIP COURSE

 

October 10, 2025 - The Lesotho Defence Force Public Relations Unit (PRU) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international Relations in collaboration with the SADC Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre, held a closing ceremony for the Intergrated Senior Mission Leadership Course on October 10, 2025 at Global Guest house.

The Regional Peacekeeping Training Centre (RPTC) Command, Brigadier General Jose Canamala stated that the course is aimed to educate the participants about Peacekeeping and achieved specific objectives.

These objectives include enabling participants to think strategically, anticipate situations and challenges, devise solutions and challenges and to successfully implement the mission mandate.

The Commandant noted that the course was successfully concluded and the participants achieved the desired outcomes hence they will be awarded with Certificates. There were 59 participants that were to be awarded. 

This ceremony marked the culmination of the participants' hard work and dedication enhancing their skills in peacemaking and leadership.

The Principal Secretary for Defence Mabataung Khalane, delivered the closing remarks expressing gratitude to the participants. She emphasized that the region and beyond have ongoing conflicts that require proactive and vigilant efforts from the participants. These conflicts pose challenges and logistical issues which ought to be addressed in order to achieve sustainable community development.

Ms. Khalane highlighted that the course has equipped participants with the necessary wisdom to set strategic directions and visions.

They can now effectively co-ordinate and intergrate various component to produce positive results. 

The Principal Secretary urged participants to apply their newfound knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact in their missions.
